Bajaj Avenger Street 160 has been launched in Nepal with Single-Channel ABS and a fresh new design. The Official Price of Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS in Nepal is Rs. 3,19,900.
Hansraj Hulaschand & Co. Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor of Bajaj Auto in Nepal recently launched the cruiser motorcycle with a few updated features and revisited design. The Avenger 160 now comes with a single-channel ABS with a new 160cc engine.
Bajaj is a well-known street motorcycle manufacturer. However, with the Avenger, they still seem to be trying out new iterations in the hopes of running up the sales chart.
Bajaj Avenger Street 160 Overview
Although there is not a lot of hype around the motorcycle, the Bajaj Avenger has been here for a while now. From 150cc and 180cc to 220cc, the motorcycle has arrived in yet another variant the 160cc ABS.
In this article, we will explore all that Avenger 160 ABS has to offer, starting with the design and features of the bike.
Design and Features
The looks of the Avenger is what sets it apart from the crowd. It has a unique design with probably the most comfortable seating position in the 160cc segment. With the slogan ‘Feel like god‘, the built quality is top-notch including inspirations drawn from its sibling Avenger 220cc.
The 2020 Avenger 160cc ABS comes with a street-control handlebar, low slung seat, and extended footrest position. Interestingly, the handle lock keyhole and ignition are set at two different positions. The motorcycle has a Harley Davidson vibe to it.
Moreover, the wheelbase of the motorcycle is longer than most motorcycles. The bike is easy to nimble, however, it could be a problem taking it into small alleyways.
The Bajaj Avenger 160 ABS is available in 2 different colours – Ebony Black and Spicy Red.
Engine and Performance
Powering the Bajaj Avenger 160 ABS is a 160.37cc Single Cylinder, 2-valve, air-cooled DTS-I Engine. It can generate a maximum power of 15PS at 8,500rpm and maximum torque of 13.5nm at 7,000rpm. To make it clear, the engine is still the BS4 engine.
The motorcycle comes with a 5-speed manual transmission similar to most 160cc bikes. Personally, I think it would have been better to see an oil-cooled engine with a BS6 variant. But as of now, we only get the BS4 compliant Avenger 160 in Nepal.
Salient features of Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS:
- Roadster Design Headlamp
- Single-Channel ABS
- Wider Rear Tires
- Street Control Handlebars
- Low Slung and Long Seat
- New Sportster Design
- Unique Extended Footrest Position
- 160cc DTS-i Engine
Brakes and Tires
Sine the Bajaj Avenger 160cc comes with a single-channel ABS, the braking on this motorbike has gotten significantly better. The drum brake on the rear is still a letdown in my opinion. But we do have to realize that this is a cruiser motorcycle, so the drum brake is adequate as well.
There is a considerable amount of size difference between the front and the rear tires. The Avenger 160 has a 90/90-17inch front tire and a 130/90-15inch rear tire. As mentioned earlier, you only get a disc-brake with ABS on the front.
Here comes the good part. Since the Avenger 160 ABS is made for touring as well as city rides, it is even more important to have a decent fuel efficiency. Luckily, Bajaj has managed a 45kmpl of mileage on the new Avenger 160 ABS. The motorcycle comes with a 13 litres fuel tank capacity with 3.8 litres on reserve. So, you can now take long rides without having to worry about running out of fuel.

Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS Price and Availability
The 2020 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS is currently available in all the Bajaj showrooms across the major cities in Nepal. Again, the motorcycle comes in 2 different colour variants as of now – Ebony Black and Spicy Red.
Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS price in Nepal is set at NPR.3,19,900.
If you ask me, I’d consider looking at some more options before purchasing. That is because the hefty price tag does not even get you a dual-disc motorcycle. The front ABS is great but it’s a bummer that you only get a disc brake on the front.
The Avenger 220 is NPR.3.39 lakhs, which means for an extra NPR.20,000 you’ll get a more powerful motorcycle with an almost similar design from the same manufacturer.
