Jawa Classic and Jawa 42 made their entry in the Nepali market with great expectations. They compete with the Royal Enfield motorcycles, which are the pioneer in this bike segment in Nepal. Jawa Forty Two Overview
Jawa Forty Two is introduced in six colors for Single and Double Channel ABS. The Single channel variant’s price is Rs. 6,20,000, and the Double Channel Variant is priced at Rs. 6,48,000.
Design and Features
The Jawa 42 has rocky reliability with a fresh and modern kind of look. The finishing of the Forty Two is an iconic matte finish and impressive chrome detailing to give the bike a stylish appearance. The handling of the bike is smooth, with great acceleration and tight but reliable braking.
Jawa is a work of art as displayed by the quality of design on the Forty Two. The sleek lines and graceful curves provide a robust design that cannot compromise. The single-piece handlebar of the bike is separated from the front housing making the handle control smooth.
There is an analog-digital instrument cluster with the headlamp equipped with halogen bulbs. The unique features of the new Jawa 42 include the oddly-shaped single-pod instrument cluster, matte-finished design with chrome details, twin-pea shooter exhausts, bulbous fuel tank, single flat seat, round indicators, and waterfall type tail light.
Engine and Performance
Jawa 42 is powered by a single-cylinder, 4-stroke FI Engine with twin exhaust. The Fuel Injected DOHC engine uses a liquid-cooled cooling system. The maximum power generated by the 293cc displacement engine is 27 bhp and a peak torque of 28 Nm. The flat torque curve-tuned engine provides an excellent torque in the mid-range.
The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission and is a BS6-compliant engine. The Jawa 42 has a wheelbase of 1369 mm and a 76 x 65 mm Bore Stroke.
The motorcycle has a fuel tank of 13 liters capacity and a kerb weight of 170 kg. The seat is placed in a suitable position for both rider and pinion at the height of 176 mm.

Brakes and Tires
On the front, the Jawa 42 has disc brakes with a floating caliper and Anti-lock Braking System, and the rear has drum braking (for the single-channel ABS variant) and 240 mm disc (for dual-channel ABS variant).
The front disc size is 280 mm, and the rear drum is 153 mm in size. The front tire of the Jawa 42 is 90/90-18″ in size, while the rear tire is more significant than the front with 120/80-17″.
The Forty Two body is made up of a Double Cradle frame with telescopic Hydraulic Fork suspension on the front and Gas Canister- twin shock hydraulic suspensions on the rear end of the motorcycle.
