The Austrian manufacturer KTM has launched its first 125cc naked bike in India with a liquid-cooled engine. The street oriented bike is the most affordable and expensive at the same time, in 125cc segment. The bike is already launched in India, but the authorized distributor of KTM Bikes, Hansraj Hulaschand and Company is yet to launch the bike in Nepal. We can expect the bike to roam in the streets of Nepal within this year. The 125 Duke borrows its design cues from its elder sibling, KTM Duke 200. The KTM 125 DUKE is the entry-level bike of the range and is designed with the same outlook as other variants of KTM Duke. KTM Duke 125 price will obviously be very expensive and the rumored KTM Duke 125 Price in Nepal would be around 4 lakhs.
KTM Duke 125 Overview
The revamped body graphics of the new 125 Duke distinguishes itself from the rest and is the first 125cc naked bike ever to feature ABS in India. It is loaded with a single channel ABS unit to ensure enhanced braking performance. The news of the Launch of the bike in India is both exciting. It is exciting because we get to see another addition to the lineup and interesting because of the designs and features.
The bike’s price in Nepal is not yet confirmed, but following the price trends in India, we can guess the price of The Duke 125 in the range of 4 lakhs. Engine and Performance
The 125 Duke comes with a 124.7cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which is mated to a 6-speed transmission that produces 14.5HP @ 9,250 RPM and a maximum torque of 12Nm @ 8,000RPM. The liquid cooled engine generates maximum power and has a nice initial pickup.
Unlike its elder brother, the bike lacks slipper clutch. Mechanics are also similar to its 200cc sibling, including a trellis frame, 43mm USD fork and a preload adjustable monoshock. The bike comes with a seat height of 818mm and has a lightweight of 141kg. The liquid cooled engine is fitted to a balancer shaft and has a 6-speed gearbox.
Design and features
KTM Duke 125 has a similar design and looks like its elder sibling KTM Duke 390. The bike features the slip headlamp, muscular tank and an exhaust muffler like its elder brother. It is very hard to distinguish these two different models because of their similarity.
The bike has a TFT instrumental cluster The TFT instrumental console like the international version. The instrument cluster gives a huge amount of information to the rider about everything like the fuel gauge, fuel efficiency, speed, tachometer, two trip meters, odometer and a service interval time.
The Duke 125 has muscular appeal and aggressive design. It shares its design cues and features from its elder sibling KTM Duke 200. It has a split headlamp with projector lights for better vision, LED DRLs, striking alloys, and side mounted exhaust. Like other KTM bikes, the bike continues to have a trellis-frame and has a high quality saddle which is durable and provides comfort to the rider.
Speaking further, The 125 cc naked street bike has a superior quality switchgear and palm grips. Footpegs of the bike are also perfectly placed and handlebars are raised to offer a comfortable riding position to the rider. The newly launched bike features a muscular fuel tank which is designed to give a sporty look.
Brakes and tyres
Talking about the safety features, the Duke 125 is equipped with a 280mm disc at the front and 230mm disc at the rear for enhanced braking performance. The bike also has a single-channel ABS as standard for additional braking, which offers additional safety to the rider.
The bike has a fuel tank that can hold 10.2 liters of gas and delivers a decent mileage of 45kmpl along with a high performance. The mileage it provides, depends upon the road surfaces. It has a 150/60 section tyres at the rear and 110/70 section tyres in the front which ensures better grip and safety.
