The KTM Duke bike made its presence in Nepal for the first time in 2012. Since then, it has been a popular and most demanded sports bikes among the youths of Nepal. Recently, the authorized distributor of Bajaj Bikes and KTM bikes in Nepal, Hansraj Hulaschand has launched the latest model KTM Duke RC 390 in the Nepalese Market. KTM RC 390 Overview

All Duke and RC motorcycles are manufactured on the premises of Bajaj Auto, which is at Pune, Chakan and from there, they are exported worldwide. The KTM RC390 is a lightweight and the fastest sports bike in Nepal. It is a fully-faired version of its sibling, KTM Duke 390 with some minor changes to its chassis. The new model RC 390 has a side-mounted exhaust and an attractive windshield to increase its aesthetic appeal.

Engine & Performance

Featuring engine, there is not so much of change when compared to the previous model. New KTM RC 390 features a single cylinder 4-stroke engine, water-cooled engine with 373.3 cc engine displacement. Latest technology used in this engine not only provides better torque but also has better performance when compared to the previous version. It can generate a maximum power of 43.5 Ps @ 9000 rpm and a maximum torque of 36 Nm @ 7000 rpm. Contactless, Controlled, Fully Electronic Ignition System With Digital Ignition Timing Adjustment is used in new KTM RC 390. With the use of Ride by Wire, it is guaranteed of smooth throttle response.

The new 2019 model RC 390 features a new adjustable clutch and brake levers. Additionally, the powerful EFI engine generates enough power that makes the bike powerful and the fastest KTM Duke bike in Nepal.

Designs and features

The RC 390 is almost similar to RC 200, in terms of design and features. The only noticeable difference is the color schemes. RC 390 has white fairings and the other has matte black with black side fairing. The improved aerodynamics give protection to the riders from the wind.

The bike also has powerful twin headlight, which provides excellent visibility in low-light conditions. It has a fully digital LCD display that gives you every bit of information that is required while riding a bike, including fuel gauge, engaged gear and service remainder information. The bike also has some extra features like ABS and slipper clutch, unlike its elder sibling, KTM Duke RC 200.

KTM RC 390 is built around a steel trellis frame, similar to the one in the Duke and the Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm inverted fork at the front and monoshock at the rear. The clip-on bars are perfectly positioned gives a sporty and aggressive appeal to the bike.

The seats are also comfortable and come with two-part seat for both rider and pillion. A seat height of 820 mm gives a comfortable riding position to the rider and the bike also has a bigger rearview mirror for safety reasons.

As for the gearbox, it comes with a 6-speed gearbox. This latest KTM RC 390 features an advanced slipper clutch for a more smooth transaction. Not only that this slipper clutch opens when the torque becomes too high and assists when you open the throttle. When you hit the roads, the bike is very fast and in just 5.6 seconds it can go from 0 to 100 km. 166 km/h is the top speed of this bike which is very fast. With the use of new exhaust, the overall weight of the bike has increased but there is no compromise in the performance. Talking about the fuel efficiency, the bike comes with 9.5 liters of a fuel tank. Overall, the bike provides an average amount of fuel mileage with around 25 km/l. One of the biggest changes is the Brakes and the braking system is great in new KTM RC 390.

The front disc is now bigger than the last previous model and this features more stopping power which is great. Front brake comes with a 320mm Disc brake with four-pot brake caliper whereas for rear brake 230mm disc brake with one-pot brake caliper, floating brake discs is featured. Handling has always been one of the top features of KTM RC 390.

Now with better ground clearance, the handling is even more efficient and comfortable. The seating position is a little bit committed and many riders may not feel comfortable. If you are a tall guy then there is no problem else it will take some time to get used to it.
