On NADA Auto Show 2019, Suzuki has officially launched the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 in Nepal. The Official Price of Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 in Nepal is Rs. 4,96,900.
In recent years, we have not witnessed any major changes in the Gixxer series. And as a result, the bikes failed to capture the market share. The lack of visual appearance or only a few modifications could have resulted in lower sales. Now the company has come up with an idea to create a market presence and to increase the sales in emerging countries like Nepal and India. A few days ago, Suzuki launched the new model’s sports bike namely: Suzuki Gixxer SF and Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 in India and will shortly launch the new model bikes in Nepal. What does the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 offer? What makes it special?
The new Suzuki SF 250 has quite new design and styling compared to old Suzuki Models which a new thing that has been implemented. The design is quite sharp and sporty, with an LED setup for the headlamp as well as tail-light. It is equipped with clip-on bars and split seats to keep in tune with the sporty appearance. Visually, the Gixxer SF 250 looks a bit more focused than Yamaha’s Fazer 25.
The bike’s headlight appears to be larger than it actually is from the front because of the stumpy front windscreen. The fairing is a lot more comprehensive this time around and gives the motorcycle a substantial stance.
Powerful Engine & Performance
The newly launched GIXXER SF 250 is driven by 249 cc, SOCS enabled four-stroke, single-cylinder fuel injection, SOHC engine which gives the enhanced performance. This engine can produce a max power up to 26.5ps@9000RPM and 22.6 Nm@7500RP of Maximum Torque. A six-speed manual gearbox enables smooth ride even at low speed.
The new SOCS technology reduces the engine weight and makes it light-weight and gives a lightning-fast speed. Thus, making it much more agile and sharp around corners, befitting its title of being a super-sport. Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 has been unveiled by Suzuki in two different color variants: Metallic Matte Platinum Silver and Metallic Matte Black.
Additionally, the widespread front and rear tires provide stability while riding through rough terrains. The new dual-channel Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) guarantees improved braking and reduces braking distance. The new GIXXER SF series is assembled on a lightweight frame with more developed rigidity to sustain a good balance throughout the ride. Additionally, the specially developed front suspension offers balance to the riders while braking and cornering on uneven roads and turnings. The advanced braking system, Dual channel ABS used in the bike enhances the control and balance of the bike.
Speaking more about the features, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 includes all LED lights, Dual-channel ABS, new Instrument Cluster, and efficient Design. It is well equipped with telescopic, coil spring, oil damped front suspension and swing arm type, monoshock unit rear suspension. SF 250 has a fuel tank capacity of 12 liters and has a kerb weight of 161KG. It gives a mileage of 30KM/L which is good for its kind. Seats are also comfortable with the height of 800mm and the ground clearance of 165mm is also another interesting feature of the Gixer SF 250. Ground clearance is ideal for the streets of Nepal.
Suzuki qualifies the SF 250 as a sports tourer and its riding position reinforces it. Although the bike has clip-on handlebar to hold, they are set at a high level, which proves to be sporty with a comfortable riding position. Comparing the overall performance and design, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is sure to be a direct rival of TVS Apache RR310, Honda CBR 250R, Yamaha YZF R15V3, and Yamaha FZ 25 which though having a single-cylinder engine, feels equally powerful and refined as the Gixxer 250.
