Talking about the Engine System of Yamaha R15 V3, it comes with a Fuel Injection Engine Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve 155 cc engine that produces a maximum power of 19 bhp @ 10000 rpm and maximum torque of 15 Nm @ 8500 rpm as the power has been increased as compared to the older version. It is expected that the engine in the new Yamaha R15 v3.0 is to be finely tuned and will be more durable. One of the main reason for this is the FI engine setup used in the bike. The top speed of the bike to be said around 138 km/h and can go 0 to 100 km/h in just 11.3 seconds. When you are riding this bike, the sound and exhaust note has been extremely good and has been improved as compared to it’s older version. The clutch system used in this bike is Wet Multiple-disc with a TCI (Transistor controlled ignition) Ignition system along with a electric starting system.
When we talk about the transmission, it comes with a 6 number of gears. The gear box in new 2018 Yamaha R15 v3 is very good and the shifting of the gear is also smooth which was average on the previous versions. So that Yamaha has improved the gear box. The clutch has also been improved and now it is more smooth. Yamaha has also improved the low end performance which make riding experience in the city will be great.
Now talking about the fuel tank, the fuel tank looks phenomenon with a more muscular look and feels more premium but the fuel tank capacity has been reduced and now it is 11 liters. Though the tank size has been a little bit compromised, the performance has been increased which is good. Many people are questioning about the mileage of the bike, the bike gives a decent amount of fuel efficiency with around 30-35 km/l in average.
Talking about one of the most important aspect of a bike i.e. comfortableness, if a bike is not comfortable to ride then it does not matter how much power it provides. Talking about the seats, the seat has been increased as compared to the previous model. The sitting posture is even more committed and dedicated for the riders and some of the short people will feel little bit of uncomfortable during the ride. But for people with high height, it is good once you are in habit of riding this bike. The ground clearance has been increased by 10 mm and now it is 170 mm. I think there was no need to increase the ground clearance as the previous model was good for the worst speed breaker also. The weight of the bike is also increased and new kerb weight is 139 kg.
Braking system on both rear and front brakes are Disc. One of the major drawback of this bike is that it does not have ABS. With this price range we think there should be ABS but unfortunately it doesn’t. Front brake size is 282 mm and 220 mm for the rear brakes. As by the experts braking system in Yamaha R15 v3 is decent and could have been better. The front wheel are 17 inch with alloy type. Both the tyres are tubeless with Front Tyre Size100/80-17M/C 52P (Tubeless) and Rear Tyre Size140/70-17M/C 66H (Tubeless). The suspensions are decent but still below average while riding in off roads. Front Suspension is a Telescopic Fork and Rear Suspension is a Swingarm (link suspension).
