Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co. Ltd. (BAIC) is a China-based brand that is one of China’s third-largest auto manufacturers. BAIC BJ40 Plus is considered to be one of the best rugged and an off-roader with best features in China.
BAIC BJ40 Plus Overview
BAIC is currently in the sale of Hyundai and Mercedes cars in the Chinese market through Beijing Benz and Beijing Hyundai and the former joint venture of Beijing Jeep. The company produces passenger car, military vehicle, and SUVs. However, BAIC BJ40 Plus has an aggressive design and is a premium off-road SUV in the world market. It has sharp design lines and a muscular posture.
Engine and Performance
BAIC BJ40 Plus is available in two different engine options: 2.0-litres Turbo and 2.3-litres Turbo equipped with manual and automatic transmission, respectively. The SUV offers a low-speed large large-torque output with high-efficiency power output.
Talking about the 2.0L engine, it produces a maximum power of 204 hp and a peak torque of 280 Nm. Similarly, the 2.3L engine produces 250 hp at 4800 rpm of maximum power and a peak torque of 350 Nm at 4000 rpm. The gearbox transmission can differ according to the launch variants with either an automatic or manual transmission.
The BAIC BJ40 Plus can reach 82% of the peak torque when it reaches 1200 rpm and 90% when it reaches 1600 rpm, and the emission standard is EURO-5 compliant.
The fuel tank capacity of BAIC BJ40 Plus is 80 litres and has a trunk volume of 532 litres.
Interior & Exterior Design and Features
BAIC BJ40 Plus has a flexible body arrangement with an easily detachable roof, doors, and windscreens. The front of the vehicle has a five-hole chrome-plated grille, and sharp projector LED lights. The SUV has a strong separate frame construction increasing the torsional stiffness by 40%. BJ40 offers a unique experience that will allow us never to stop looking forward to a change.
BAIC BJ40 Plus has a stylish rear design with sharp designs and modern LED Taillamps. The Dashboard provides all off-road survival information system as gradient, direction, altitude, and atmospheric pressure.
BAIC BJ40 is safe and reliable, providing a standard configuration of ultra-high anti-roll frame in the front and a natural barrier on the rear to protect passenger’s safety. The colours available in the SUV are White, Red, Green, Dark Red, and Black.

Ventilated Disc brakes handle the braking of BAIC BJ40 on the front and Disc brakes on the rear. The SUV has 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels of tires size 245/65 R17.

BAIC BJ40 Plus Price in Nepal and Availability
BAIC BJ40 Plus has not yet been launched in Nepal, and its pricing and features specifications are kept to a minimum. However, we speculate that the price of the SUV will reach the 1 Crore mark, which will justify the features.
The SUV has a premium design and exciting features, with a military design tested like a military vehicle over one million kilometres. BAIC has claimed that the design inspiration of BJ40 plus is taken from Jeep Wrangler.
The BAIC BJ40 is expected to launch or announced by late April 2021, and its complete specifications and features will be revealed then.
