Hero Destini 125 Overview
Hero scooters in Nepal are popular because they come at a reasonable price and are easily affordable. People of Nepal normally prefer to ride two-wheelers more than the four-wheeled vehicles and the only reason they pick scooter because it is easy to handle, has a low maintenance cost and it covers a small parking area. The new Hero Destini 125 is built with attractive design, attached to a powerful engine with the latest i3S technology and offers outstanding performance. The Destini 125 is built with a minimal design embracing soft lines and curves on outer structure. Hero Destini 125 is powered by a 124.6cc ‘Energy Boost Engine’ that can generate a maximum power of 8.6PS@6,750RPM and a maximum torque of 10.2Nm@5000RPM. Transmission duties are carried out by a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) gearbox. The interesting part about this family-oriented scooter is that it also features Hero’s i3S start-stop technology, which is introduced to save fuel during frequent stops like that of Traffic jam! This fuel saving technology introduced by the company is idle in the streets of Nepal because it has to deal with quite a lot of traffic jams.
For braking, the Hero Destini 125 has an Integrated Braking System (IBS) along with 130mm discs at front and rear for higher braking performance. Suspension of the scooter comprises of telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic shock absorbers along with single coil spring type hydraulic at the rear for comfortable riding. A telescopic forks suspension is used at the front and a rear monoshock unit. As for the Braking System, drum units are used at both ends with Hero’s integrated braking system.
Design & Features
The design of this 125cc scooter is quite similar to the Duet 110. But, it comes with refined changes in features and appearance. It comes with new body graphics and i3S branding on the front and features a new digital display with the analog instrument console. The Destini 125 features a simple design that comprises of soft lines and curves which looks quite great.
It is well equipped with an external fuel filler cap, Dashboard and features like the mobile charging port, a boot lamp, a remote key etc. It also has a semi-digital instrument console with a side stand indicator as well as a service-due indicator. The new model family scooter gets dual-tone mirrors, tubeless tyres, USB charging port, service reminder, a side stand indicator, boot light, and external fuel filling. Its starting mechanism supports both kick start and self- start.
Hero Destini 125 is a lightweight scooter and has a net weight of mere 111.5 Kg. It has a ground clearance of 155mm, which is suitable for the rough road surfaces of Nepal. It has a fuel tank that can hold up to a maximum of 5.5 liters of gas and gives a mileage of 54kmpl. The all-new scooter measures a top speed of 90km/hr on a smooth surface.
